During homework time, mentors work with HRA students in Grades 1 through 4, helping them with assignments and offering guidance. Some students are even able to complete all their homework during this time, allowing them time for family and other activities at home.

We know that play is an important part of the day for these students, especially after school. After homework time, Lower School students have the opportunity to play outside. On days with bad weather, learning activities are instead set up in the Multi-Purpose Room. Sometimes, students enjoy a movie, while others opt to spend time reading.

After-School Classes

Certain Lower School courses meet later in the day in order to provide engaging and meaningful enrichment after regular school hours. HRA students can choose from a variety of enriching After-School Classes, including ballet, running club, chess, karate, garden club, and art and music classes. Sign-up forms for these classes are distributed prior to the start of each school year, throughout the year as new classes are introduced, and at the beginning of each semester.
